Last spring and early summer, I didn't think the police project was going to be ready to go public by this fall--a Halloween time has been the anticipated time.... But the police and their supporters were motivating me...we were working pretty hard...and now I'm totally ready to see the news conference.... I believe it's the best option.--And that's my Plan A.
There seem to have been at least three or four different parties who were told they could be in charge of the special police project, and these people presumably also wanted to be the spokespeople at the conclusion.... Some of the parties didn't, and don't, even know about each other.... It's my luck that I was informed.... But we have to understand that not everyone can be in charge. It's not possible! Also, the police in my area get very good pay, and I have reason to believe a few of the civilian supporters receive pay from the police; and unfortunately these people have no incentive to wrap things up...! It's not like some of us who had wanted to find a job and get paid--make a living--and this thing turned out to be a lot more than we expected! Sure, at times there were indications that God wanted me to work on this project...but I also had some mistaken facts, sometimes....
Some of the police and civilian supporters had also wanted to make some extra money through the police project...and that was fair if they were made reasonable promises.... It WAS one of the goals at the beginning, to make money...! I believe the police have a responsibility to look out for the well-being of their civilian supporters, to some degree--especially myself, who has been very heavily involved--and I was asked to be, directly or indirectly.
Just recently, I turned an official retirement age. It's very good if some people are willing and able to work beyond their retirement age...but I haven't had a normal work history.... This hasn't been a normal business, for me.... And the way things are going, the police could continue on for an indefinite number of years.... There's no end in sight! They can try to do good, yes, but they need a plan if they're asking civilians to be involved and are holding up funds that were promised....
Would like to say that if the police don't go public by this Halloween, I'm going to take a stand and quit working for them. I believe the public also has a right to know what's going on. [Not that I'm going to tell them.] There's no need to work in secret any longer, in my opinion.
If there's no news conference now and I quit working, my life will be challenged, no doubt. I have a shadow over me--with false criminal charges and false mental health charges--and I can't just carry on with something else, like someone else might. But that's okay. I want to take a stand--if we don't find our success by this Halloween. I haven't had a chance to discuss it with my son yet, but based on other conversations we've had I believe he'll support me.
The special police project had started off with good intentions, more or less, and some respectability--90 years ago! I'd like to see them come to a respectable conclusion, rather than mucking along continually.... We need a conclusion. Then some police could continue working openly. That's my view, and my first wish. And if it doesn't work out, my Plan B is to take a stand and quit working, as I said above.
