Rumours Aren't Helpful

On my Facebook, I get a lot of posts from American police; and they give hints about what they're thinking in the special police project....  I've had some concerns.  Earlier, I heard a rumour that some American police were prejudiced against one of our Canadian parties...won't get into the details now....  It's possible Americans could be prejudiced against some Canadians, or against gays, or just against gay marriage...!?  I'd like us to get all the facts.  Unpleasant rumours aren't helpful and we really need to know the whole story....  There have also been some Jews involved with some Canadian police....

There have been stories that "the Jews" said or did this and that....  And people thought it was one group.  But actually, there have been many Jews or groups of Jews who have contributed something to the police project....  I really hope we can get ALL the facts and not act from misinformation or prejudice.

Do We Know What is "Civilized?"

In the past, I've heard stories that some police and Hollywood people wanted to have a RESPECTABLE conclusion to the special police project for LGBTQs.  I don't know if these people are around any longer but I've appreciated their view and have wanted to support it.  It's been a little difficult, however... unfortunately.  But leaving that aside, I'd like us to be CIVILIZED....

We have a fancy new, human rights museum in the city of Winnipeg, in Manitoba.  There've been stories that the police project wanted to have a news conference and/or a display there....  Would it be fair to say that our main spokesman needs to be a CIVILIZED person...???  And if a person has been an antagonistic or aggressive "provoker," rather than a "messenger of peace," is it a civilized wish for them to be the spokesman?

Myself, I've been accused of not having clear thinking at times....  But I wonder if the police and their associates are always thinking clearly...?  Okay, it's just my opinion....  Just my opinion.

[It's possible someone had a respectable career in the past...and that's fine and good.  But if they've spent the last 20+ years being a "provoker," would it be civilized or respectable for them to be placed as the spokesman...?]

One other point is that maybe some people have wanted a "roadblock" to be the punchline--the bottom line--of the special police project...?

Peace and Good News

Have found a Bible verse which I believe relates to people who have worked in the special police project....  It's Isaiah 52:7, "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who brings good news...."  New Revised Standard Version.  [I checked in one version of a Catholic Bible--which wasn't their main Bible--and it was very similar.  I believe their regular Bible would be similar also.]  I'm not very knowledgeable about Bible history and facts outside of the Bible, but the Bible says there were [small] mountains around the city of Jerusalem.  The messengers used to travel on foot, I'm sure, and they had to pass over the mountains in coming and going....  This verse also refers to preaching the gospel, and the police project isn't about the full gospel, but as I said to others recently I believe the police project helps gays to be more open to the POSSIBILITY  of accepting the gospel....  And not that all of the police care about religious explanations or the gospel....

All the facts haven't been proven yet but there used to be a lot more discrimination and harassment against gays [and some issues with transsexuals...] in our society, and the police project has helped to reduce these problems greatly.  I believe this was "good news" and helped to bring more peace to the gays....  The police who were involved--not all police were, and some firefighter friends, and Hollywood friends, and some civilian and government supporters have helped!  They were "messengers of peace."  [And I include myself, also.]

For the record, there have been some parties who were not "messengers of peace" but they were provokers, and even roadblocks, at times....  Some had extenuating circumstances and some were a combination of these things.  But if there was a "provoker" who wanted to get someone else to say positive things, and they didn't contribute any positive input themselves, should they get the same credit as a "messenger?"  I believe everyone should get their dues--and I mean that in a positive way....  But we need to be realistic.

Will write some more in a separate post.

Do the Conservative Christians Have Any Excuse?

Have recently found another passage in the Bible which I believe shows that Christians should support the gay marriage rights.  The passage is, l Peter 2:13, 14, "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well."  King James Version.  An ordinance is a law--it's in the dictionary.  I think I've heard the term "ordinance" used in city politics, especially.

Christians will excuse themselves from following the laws if they believe a law is a direct violation of their conscience.  However, I've stated before that the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 5 [verse 12] about sexual immorality and he said, "For what have I to do to judge them also that are without...?"  King James Version.  Paul's advice was that we shouldn't judge people who are OUTSIDE of the church.  If people do, I believe their consciences are overly-sensitive and the Christians are being over-controlling of others.  So, I believe the above text about following the ordinances of man is relevant.

The last I heard, it was some Protestant Christians in the USA--besides my church--who were resisting the anti-discrimination law, including gay marriage.  From what I've seen and heard of the Catholic Church, or the pope, they've come to terms with the special police project and they're not trying to fight the issues...?  [Although I don't know if gay marriage is "law" in the USA at this time, or if it was just a ruling by the Supreme Court...?  Nevertheless, I believe it should be respected.]

If some American police are talking to their community and government contacts, they might want to consider the above information.  But I don't think the police project needs to wait for the decisions....  I think we need to go forward, regardless....

Note added on September 26, 2022:  In North America, I believe we still have "religious exemptions" for gay marriage, which means that ministers who object for conscientious reasons aren't required to perform these marriages.  I agree with this and think it's fair.  Otherwise, I believe people should pretty much respect the gay marriage rights.

Sometimes The Police Do Die

In the past few weeks or so, there were several police officers who died in my general local area, that I know of....  One died from a criminal act by an attacker, one died from an apparent drunk driver, and one died from illness....  It's sad but it's a real fact that sometimes the police die, especially while on the job....  Have commented about the above deaths to my police sources already and I don't want to say a lot more.  But I'm sorry the deaths happened.  There have been and are different events being planned to honour the officers.

People say police are "heroes in life" because every officer is doing their part to keep peace and order in our communities.  We don't want the police to take unnecessary risks--consciously or unconsciously--in trying to be heroes, and possibly come to harm.  We want them to live and do their work as long as possible.  Every officer is a hero.  [Sometimes the police are heroes in death, also, but we don't wish it to happen.]

The Police are "Heroes in life!"

As I said to someone recently, the police--all of them--are "Heroes in life" and they're very busy with their regular duties....  The special police project for LGBTQs has been sort of on the back burner, it seems; and maybe the police don't always give it their full attention and it's not a high priority...!?  That's the police who are involved, that is....  Among them, they've too often had some sensational and unrealistic ideas...they've worked with film and television people...and they've had some aggressive lawyers who were hired for the purpose of helping the special project....  But sometimes the lawyers are kind of laid back, also....

In my opinion, we need a person or party who is willing to be credible and respectable--and to tell the facts of the police project....  We need a reputable spokesperson or group....  There have been parties in the past who wanted to be respectable....  They also wanted to have a little fun, with a news story at Halloween....  So, respectability and some fun--is there anything wrong with that?  If some police and their civilian associates aren't capable of delivering this, maybe they'd be willing to step aside and let someone else do it?  What can be done???  The clock is ticking for this Halloween...!  We don't want to spend another year mucking around....

In approximately this past year, I was trying to humour and help some local police with their issues in the police project....  Unfortunately, I wasn't very successful in what I wanted to do...I tried....  Some doors were closed, regarding my conservative church and I believe I have to leave them--besides there is the danger of society going backwards, as we saw with abortion rights in the USA.  [The local police and I did clarify some business issues....]  I don't believe there's anything else that I want to work on....  The police and their associates haven't brought up anything to me, themselves, for quite a long time--many of them have only been trying to promote a false, gay story about me...!  I've denied the story and my life has been an open book in my 4-part blog!  What else do they need?  I've gone over my life--from beginning until the present--with a fine-toothed comb, so to speak....

Do the unrealistic police need a voice from heaven to tell them what to do?  I'm trying to pray and there isn't very much more that I can do....

Wrapping Up One Issue

As far as the special police project goes, I think I have to get off the topic of abortion....  We've wanted to show some support and we did...but it's a very complicated topic right now and may be bigger than gay rights...!  So, I don't want to get sidetracked any more....  For my own personal reasons, I can write about abortion in the future if there are issues....

[Actually, I saw a program from my church on Roku TV not too long ago and a man who was interviewed expressed regret about his and his former partner's involvement with abortion....  I think people could go to grief support groups after abortion, if needed...?  It's not to say that abortion is murder--I don't believe so--but maybe sometimes people don't think about it enough BEFORE it happens....  Then, sometime later on, they might feel sorrow....  But we can get support in grieving, if it's needed!  I think it's entirely appropriate, and the support groups are usually readily available....]
