Catching Up Again

During our lockdown in this province, I've been able to discuss some further issues privately....  One was that I saw a number of family, Christmas movies which reminded me of my childhood....  I remembered that from quite a young age, I made an effort to give at least some small gifts to everyone in my family at Christmas.  I did it year after year.  We had some family dysfunction, as I've written before, but I wanted to show some love to my family.  Looking back, it made me feel happy that I took this action; and I may write further in the Waterlily Story II blog when I have a chance...?

Another point which I discussed was that I believe my parents made a big mistake in not talking to me about it before they put me into the private, church school in the second grade....  Have also written about this matter before....  My parents meant well but they had the wrong reasons for sending me to this school....  I believe Christian education is good but we would've needed family counselling first of all....  (Both of my parents have passed away by now....  I forgive them for their mistakes....)

A third point which I discussed privately was that I read an article in the Toronto Star/Sunday Star newspaper on February 7, 2021, which told of a police raid carried out 40 years earlier in Toronto.  There were reportedly 100 officers, some with crowbars and sledgehammers, who arrested 300 men at public bath houses....  There was apparently suspicion of homosexual behaviour....  I'm sure the police were following the laws at the time, but I've said before that I believe the public would be HAPPY to know that a small minority of the police were working on a special project to help gay rights...!

Won't go into the other points--I don't think it's necessary.  Will write a little more separately to show where I've left things with the police project....
