My New Blog Reminded Me...

After I posted photos of a moonrise in my new blog, I was reminded that I'd made some comments at the time when the moonrise photography took place....  I'd said something to the effect that God was blessing and comforting me after all the problems I'd had....  This was in late 1998.... But looking back, I understand that I'd made mistakes myself--it wasn't all others' faults....  And I had to say that the moonrise event happened because I was ready and alert with my camera, at the time....  It was an opportunity--which was more than I expected--and I made use of it....

Anyway, this moonrise story also reminded me of another matter which hadn't QUITE been resolved in my criminal matters....  So, I've been writing in my private writing....  I HOPE that we'll soon be finished dealing with all the criminal matters--on the side of others and on my side....  [And it's certainly better to avoid criminal problems, as far as possible....  You'll have to be accountable for every last detail--as I believe it says in the Bible...?  But the Bible also says that--sometimes--God looses the prisoners...!?]

My New Blog

Would like to let people know that some of the new work I'm planning to do is writing a new blog....  It's called "Nature Art and Motivational Comments."  The address is:  www.susancoles.blogspot.ca
I don't know if we might still expose the secret police project by this Halloween--just a few days from now--but I'm going to do my thing, regardless....  People are welcome to look at my new blog.

New Post

Today I've written a new post in my Waterlily Story III blog about the money in the secret police project and what I'm thinking....

It's Not Just Charity

Earlier in this blog, I've referred to the secret police project as a "charity project" to help gay people....  I had a reason to believe that some money was being made, also, because there was a connection with film/TV people....  And, myself, I've expected to get paid as well.  However, after considering this matter further, I'm wondering if the money-making part is a little out of balance...?

The police and firefighters have at least a couple of lawyers who are advising them....  And I understand that all the parties in the police project were given freedom to do whatever they wanted to, without much accountability....  And the project was referred to as the "Great Game"...!

My part in this business hasn't been frivolous or only economic; and I've been in very serious circumstances.  And I've wanted to hep the LGBTQ+ people and issues because I was asked to help and people close to me have wanted to help [and my criminal situation had an effect also]....

At this point, we can make a choice if we're going ahead to try to earn more money or if it'd be better for the LGBTQ+ people and concerns if the police project was publicized...?  I'd like to remind the police that "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."  As far as money goes, they could make their pay-outs now instead of increasing their income which they'll collect "some day!"  There's a certain group of police who were in charge of making money and I think they should seriously consider what they want to do...?  They wanted to go public at Halloween and if they miss this year, they may be waiting for another year, or more?

If money-making was an ELEMENT of the secret police project, I can accept that.  But I don't believe money should be more important than the people and issues involved....

A Computer Glitch...

There was a disruption on the computer, which I'm using at the library, when I was writing and editing my previous post....  It seems the post duplicated itself; and I wasn't able to delete one of them....  Am afraid of losing both...?  So, I'll just leave them as they are....  Sorry for any inconvenience....

RCMP or Other Police...

Have said in this blog before that I had confidence in the Canadian Mounties/the RCMP to pay me for my writing when the time was right....  However, it's probably not the Mounties who have full and final control of my case any longer...?

Before the 1980s, we had the RCMP Secret Service but then we got the Canadian Security Intelligence Service/CSIS....  CSIS was the main secret police agency in Canada after that, and the RCMP Secret Service no longer existed....  [But we had the regular RCMP/Royal Canadian Mounted Police, across Canada.]

Have a reason to believe that CSIS gave authority over the secret police project to a particular group of city police, or perhaps to several police groups...???  At any rate, many police have been involved because they were helping the secret police; and they wanted to avoid the possibility of being shut down at any time in the future, if they were discovered....  I'm not sure that CSIS, themselves, have any authority in this business at all, at this point...?  I suspect they don't?

Anyway, I've heard that a particular police agency has money available for me but so far they're not ready to give it out....  And it's not just about my comfort and convenience but there's concern for the LGBTQ+ issues and the parties promoting them....  If they're not ready to go public yet then I'll have to wait longer for my money....  [I imagine--unless we could make a private deal between us...???]

Many of the police involved in the secret police project are gay or bi-sexual, themselves....  I wish they'd be ready to go public but I can't force them....

Their Time Is Up

By this time, the parties have had enough time to think, I believe....  Will have to decide what I'm going to do...?  Am not sure if we can have a resolution of this business by this Halloween...???

A Learning Experience!

It's a delicate matter to accuse someone of sexual harassment....  In my landlady's case, there was a lot of evidence going against her...but it didn't necessarily prove she was guilty....  Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation was another possibility....  But it also wasn't proven....

A person also has to be careful of what they say about gay people....  I made my share of mistakes....

What I can conclude about this landlord/tenant matter is that it was a learning experience for me....  And I had some church friends who came out to me as gay afterwards....

No Lawyer--part 2

Sometime around the time that a new landlord/tenant agency was created, after the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal ended, the Ontario Human Rights Commission also changed and switched to a tribunal format....  I haven't followed the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario to observe their progress but I imagine their cases are much more streamlined than before...?  And I'm not sure if they require lawyers for their clients but I believe they provide some assistance directly to clients...?  Everything helps, I'm sure...!  If I'd been able to go to a human rights tribunal, with assistance, when my case came up it would've certainly been easier for me.

Also, I hadn't been personally involved in many court cases before the landlord problem came up; and I didn't stop to think what a difficult challenge it could be to prove a case and to win a judgment for it...?  It happens that I recently had had sexual harassment from a male landlord in a different city, and I'd gotten counselling for it....  But I hardly got any legal advice at that time, even though some would've been available....  And I was in over my head with the female landlord....

"No Lawyer [was] Required"

Part of the reason why my landlord/tenant case was so difficult to deal with was because the former Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal was a new agency when I went there and they had a new system which was quite different than before....  As far as I know, the cases had been handled in the regular courts earlier...?  But it was promoted in the news that clients of the ORHT didn't need to have lawyers representing them unless they wished to...?  Also, a new law called "The Tenant Protection Act" included human rights offenses which had normally been handled by the Ontario Human Rights Commission....  That change alone was extremely significant and the OHRC had not uncommonly taken a number of years to investigate and rule on their cases.

If a person can possibly get a lawyer to help them, it's always preferable to make use of them, in my opinion....  And especially where a human rights case of sexual harassment in housing was involved, a lawyer would've been invaluable....  It would've needed to be a lawyer who specialized in human rights or sexual harassment, however....  Lawyers, just like doctors, usually have their field of expertise and experience....

Needless to say, I didn't have any particular lawyer representing me at the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal....  Before the hearing, I got some free advice from a legal clinic but we didn't cover the human rights matter at all.... Later, I also made use of free clinics but it wasn't the same as having a lawyer represent me....

Going Back--part 3

Even though I've provided an update on the landlord/tenant matter, it's not my intention to debate the case in this blog....  I've provided further information about the landlord to my private sources; and I have still more information about the landlord which I haven't provided to them....

The case hasn't been proven in a court or tribunal; and it hasn't been disproven, either.

Going Back--part 2

Continued from below.

Also, I later received credible confirmation that this landlady was under psychiatric care and had been for a few years before I moved into her apartment.  She wasn't an incompetent person, though, and was in the process of studying for a Ph.D. degree....  Am not sure if she was ever successful or not; and there was some question about it...?

At this point, I can finally say I believe it was for my good and probably for the landlady's that I moved out when I did--although she could've paid higher damages towards me....  She gave me a very small amount of financial compensation when I moved out, as it was....

The criminal complaints and charges against me came about mainly because the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and I had a dispute about what happened in this landlord/tenant case, and it was also thought that I was lying about the sexual harassment....  [It happens to be on an official record that my landlady had sexual intentions towards me and I refused her--it was discussed at the hearing, which was recorded....  And we didn't discuss the Bible comment at the hearing but there was evidence, in my opinion, that the landlady continued pursuing me after the first rejection and the Bible comment....]

Going Back to the Beginning...

Going back to the landlord/tenant matter which was reported at the beginning of this blog, I'd like to tell some more about what happened....

The landlord was a church-going person and this came out in our first meeting....  She also asked if I could provide a character reference from my church for her....  I was also somewhat of a religious person; and I complied successfully with her request--although I found out later that the person giving the reference wasn't completely reliable and not everything said about me was positive....

Before very much time passed in my tenancy, my landlady made an indirect sexual solicitation towards me and she assumed that I was going to be interested in her....  I was actually shocked and my first response was to tell her the Bible says homosexuality is a sin....  I believe it was permissible for me to say that because she had asked about my church at the beginning and my church doesn't condone homosexuality....  Lawyers might say we belonged to the "same group," as Christian people....  However, there are Christians who accept a homosexual lifestyle and those who don't....

After the Bible comment, my landlady had an opportunity to invite me into her home for seemingly innocent purposes and I accepted; but then, because of some circumstances, I began to feel uncomfortable and left earlier than planned...and I never wanted to go back there again....

It was shortly after this that I got an eviction notice and I became angry....  My landlady was unavailable to talk to me and I unfortunately left her one or two angry telephone messages.  In the messages, I also made a politically-incorrect comment about her sexual orientation....  Having had very little experience in dealing with gay people, I hadn't thought through what was appropriate and what wasn't.  It's not that I meant to cause harm but I just wasn't tactful where I should've been....  And, no doubt, I shouldn't have gotten angry....

The landlady typed up transcripts of the phone messages and brought them to the hearing at the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal offices.  Of course, anybody who saw the messages would've been offended and I believe that's what happened....

It's Charity for Them, and Work for Me...

As I've been writing in my other two Waterlily blogs today, I'm at a place where I have to ask for my pay in this business if I'm going to continue working with the secret police project....  The police and firefighters have their regular paycheques that they're receiving; and it's fine for them to contribute some charity efforts to this cause....  And I've made efforts to contribute--quite a bit--without pay, so far....  But this situation has to change for me and the time is now....  The parties have had some concern about God and religion...and I don't believe God expects anybody to spend their life helping other people without getting any proper pay or without getting their living expenses met adequately....  I've had social assistance but the police have mentioned pay and I believe they've collected a lot of profits from their connections with film/TV people....

If the police don't care about my efforts further, that's fine....  I won't waste their time and they won't waste mine....  But I'll give them a little time to think about it....  [And I've addressed this issue in my private writing....]

One More Detail--part 2

According to my Internet research, psychiatrists say that "gender nonconformity" isn't a mental disorder, in itself, but a small percentage of these people suffer "clinically significant distress" over their assigned gender at birth and there's treatment available for them....  This problem is known is "Gender Identity Disorder" or "Gender Dysphoria."  These people really do seem to have significant stress and we need to have compassion for their problems; and it's thankful that some help is available--if they're able to access it....  [The reality isn't always as easy as the theory, I'm sure....]  Part of the help is in the form of psychotherapy, if I understand correctly, but there are other forms also including hormone therapy....

One More Detail

Just to be completely clear, at this point, some people are also adding a "+" sign after LGBTQ.--It's LGBTQ+.  Also, from my reading on the Internet, you practically have to be an expert--like a psychologist or a psychiatrist--to remember and understand all the various definitions of gender that are currently being used.--And these definitions are continually being expanded on....

Our society has been changing; and people want to say it's normal and/or acceptable....  And I'm not going to disagree with them if they want some rights...!  Let them have the rights they think they need....  [And by the way, there was a concern that some males who identified as women were or would be attacked by other men in the men's bathrooms....  It was deemed safer for the transgender men to use the women's bathrooms....]

Covering All the Bases....

Just to make sure I've covered everything, would like to mention that the LGBT initials are now using a Q at the end also--LGBTQ--and the Q stands for Queer or Questioning.  There's also a broad range of definitions of variations in gender--people who don't clearly define themselves as either male or female, mentally or physically....  I don't want to pretend to know or understand all the terms; and I don't really think I need to....  But I just want to acknowledge that these kinds of people exist.  Also, by their own admission, some of their agencies say that the people and terms are constantly evolving....  In Canadian news recently, someone was interviewed who said the male and female definitions have a broad range in between and people can be anywhere on the scale--or can fluctuate too, actually....  So, maybe that's the best way to understand what's happening in our society today...?
And I believe we need to accept people where they are....  It's complicated for bathrooms and shower rooms, and perhaps in some accommodations but I think these things will be worked out....

As for the official movie for the secret police project, I've said we should go ahead soon and I still believe so....  The transgender and other issues can be addressed in the movie; and it's better to have major publicity than to continue in discussing or writing about matters in private....

Are All "Human Rights" Legitimate...?

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states something to the effect of women having a right to bear children....  [Am having trouble finding a copy of the exact wording on the Internet....]  And I'm not sure I agree completely with that issue...?  I'd say it's more of a privilege than a right...?  However, it's a very complicated subject and then there are people who believe in forced sterilization, in some cases; and I'm not sure if I agree with that either...?  I don't know...  Maybe there's a balance needed and cases can be studied individually....

Am just wanting to make the point that not necessarily all the "rights" that are declared are so necessary, or even legitimate...???  But as I said yesterday, I believe the majority of the human rights ARE legitimate....

[Myself, I've had some controversy over my own child-bearing matters and I've discussed it previously....  And I believe that after any person is born, we need to respect that life and God has a plan for them....]

The Bible and Human Rights...

Christians sometimes quote the Bible out of context to support their own point of view....  Sometimes they're just not familiar enough with the Bible....  Or they can be misguided, or even fanatical....  But I believe the Bible supports human rights.

There's a particular chapter of the Bible that explains about true worship and describes some people who are unsatisfied with their religion....  And this chapter says that people need to express some practical Christianity by helping those in need, in any way....

In the Bible times, it was common for people to fast as part of their religious practise....  But the following passage tells about what God sees as a true fast, true religious worship....  It's the 58th chapter of the book of Isaiah.  Will quote a few verses:

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen?--to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? ...  Isaiah 58:6, King James Version.

"...If you remove the yoke from among you, the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil, if
you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted soul, then... [God will
bless you]."  Isaiah 58:9-10, New Revised Standard Version.

My dictionary says that a "yoke" is:  "that which joins together, the frame for joining oxen...
a mark of servitude, slavery...."

When Jesus was on the earth, He spent a lot of time healing and helping people....  And he warned us against being like the Pharisees who had a lot of man-made rules and felt self-righteous....  Jesus was compassionate, and not just to the socially-acceptable people....  These days, we have a slogan--WWJD?--What Would Jesus Do?  And I believe Jesus would've been supporting the majority of the human rights issues, if not all of them...?  Nobody should be oppressed and discriminated against....  And Christians and others are free to read the Bible further for themselves, if they wish to know more...!  These are a few of my comments, and some quotations.

[Personally, I have a FEW concerns about how some of the transgender rights should be handled...but I don't really want to get into a debate....  I'm not an authority and I've made mistakes in my explanations in the past....  And to be honest, I have a tendency to be a controlling kind of person--although I don't mean to and don't want to....  And I'd rather let the churches figure out their own issues, if they want to differ from some of the prevailing humanistic views in the USA...?  But
we certainly shouldn't make people feel bad by our bad behaviour towards them....]

Public Awareness

Wasn't aware of it ahead of time but May 17 of this year was the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia....  And personally, I think the public could probably use some more education about these topics, especially about transgender issues.  [Sometimes there's still ignorance and prejudice against gay issues also.]

Catching Up

In my last post in this blog, I was listing all the issues that I thought we were done with....  I guess the transgender issues were another point which I wasn't aware of....  Have been writing in my Waterlily Story II blog lately....
