Truth or Fiction?
Last summer, a certain movie was released in theatres. I had only seen short TV commercials promoting it; and I assumed it was a fictional story. And I even wondered if some people were making fun of me!? It turns out the film was based on a true story, which was partly based on another true story [about other events]. A lady had been writing a blog and then published a book based on the blog; and the film was the first one that was ever based on a blog [or on the book, or whatever]! I think it's pretty neat, although I'm still not trying to get a book or movie from my blog! About a year or more ago, there was talk that some people thought I was inventing a "show" to try to impress people!? But it wasn't true. One purpose of my blog was to help other people understand what was going on; and another purpose has been to try to keep my head above water, in all my legal circumstances! *** Have found an old movie, "Meet John Doe" [fictional], 1941, where a newspaper reporter printed a fake, sensational story to try to increase her ratings before getting laid off. And it worked! She kept her job and there was a lot of publicity, for different causes. But this lady had admitted to her employer at the beginning--but after the article was printed--that she made the story up. Her boss and others continued promoting the story; and they even found an unsuspecting person to portray the individual who had allegedly been involved in the story! There were various adventures and misadventures and I haven't watched the entire film but have read about most of it on the Internet. *** If the Betty/Elizabeth person needed to add some "interesting" details to keep things going in the late 1970s, I think they're not necessary by this time. There were complications in the '70s for a number of reasons. But there are more and more individuals with lots of true, interesting things to say who have had an interest in the gay rights project.--And they were involved earlier but weren't recognized as well.--Maybe they needed someone to coordinate the efforts--to really coordinate them, that is!? So, that's what I've been working on; and I believe some people wanted my help!? If there have been controversies, I think we have to come back to the fact that these days people aren't as opposed to homosexuality any more.--Although it's not to say we can excuse and condone the subject completely. And we can work out the issues, if there have been misunderstandings and objections.
